I began my journey with Avoya about 6 months ago. The training was excellent. It is online so you can move at your own pace. There is live support every step of the way. The trainers have a great deal of expertise and are very patient. About five months ago I began with my first client. The excellent support continued with Avoya's Early Success program. They offer outstanding workshops conducted by experts in the field. Upon completion of their Early Success program, the support continues. With every question I've had or challenge I've encountered, the Avoya team has been there with timely responses. Their platform for booking and managing travel is excellent. It's user friendly! Lastly, I credit my success, over $900,000 is sales in less than 5 months time, with the training and support I've received from the Avoya team.
Please excuse the length of this review, but the history gives me my basis for the review.
I had been a marketing director in the video game, hospital and hotel industry...then some advertising sales. The advertising sales gave me a taste of independence on the job that I had wanted for so long. Then, I needed to reinvent myself, once again. What could I do that would be professionally fulfilling, allow me to work independently and enable me to travel once in awhile -- and, oh yes, be FUN? Rewind...TRAVEL?
I did a Google-search, contacted IATAN and they referred me to The Travel Institute to begin the rather long and somewhat arduous path to becoming certified as a travel counselor/agent.
Then, the questions were "How do I get clients, how do I book their travel..." I registered with everyone I needed to register with. Still down to the biggest question, "How do I get clients?" I received invitations to conferences and a very important (to me) FAM trip to Paradissus Resort in Mexico.
I met travel agents who had been in the industry for many years. When they asked, "who is your host agency?" -- they saw a huge question mark over my head. I had no idea what a "host agency" was. "If you are just starting as a travel agent, you NEED a host agency first. Then, if you still want to work on your own, you'll know how to do it. But, you won't want to!"
I went to the Travel Agent Forum in Vegas in 2014 and “interviewed” numerous host agencies. I saw Scott Koepf speak and was impressed (and extremely motivated). I ultimately picked Avoya because of it’s overall personality and experience...but, as a "sales person" the phrase "QUALIFIED LEADS" made up my mind.
I would not be a travel agent today, had it not been for seeing Scott Koepf speak, and the intuition of two people at the Avoya Travel booth at the Travel Agent Forum in Las Vegas in 2014.
I had absolutely NO experience other than the certification through the Travel Institute, booking a couple of family members on trips, a couple of FAM trips and conferences, and a solid background in marketing and sales.
At the time, I did not quite meet Avoya's experience requirements, but they saw something in me and allowed me to join.
My first 6 mos. 2014 I did over $107,000 in sales. In 2015 I did over $370,000 and in 2016 over $410,000. I am now planning on working a full eight hours a day (at least) and my goal for 2017 is $750,000...or more!
If you participate and get involved with all they have to offer, there is nothing to become but SUCCESSFUL…at any level you desire.
Avoya has been family owned and operated for more than 50 years, with the original founders still alive and well, and still traveling (I believe). Second and third generation has moved them into the future! My point is...they care!
Avoya Travel's owners and staff are FUN, FAIR & INNOVATIVE. I believe Avoya always is open to new ideas from its affiliate agents and provides the very best in Superior-Experienced Support, Education, Motivation and, of course, QUALIFIED Leads…and so much more.
I could go on...but, hopefully you get my point. Call me if you need more! :)
I have been with Avoya for almost 10 years. I appreciate the positive attitude between the IA's and management. Always someone there to help.
I think that the success I have had with selling cruises is almost entirely due to the help given by Avoya.
Lead program, exceptional training, sense of family in the organization, ethical company, AP functionality that allows me to stay organized and on top of my trips and clients, relationship of Avoya with vendors is very good, innovative, affiliation with American Express. I also like the fact that Avoya is run by a family that sets a good example and cares about people.
